Practice any flag, as many times as you like
The daily challenge gives everyone one flag a day. Practice mode has no limit: it picks a random country from the whole set, and you can press Next flag for another one straight away. Nothing here affects your daily streak, so it is the place to drill the flags you keep getting wrong.
Practice by region
What to practise first
If you are starting out, work through the families that look alike rather than going alphabetically. Drawing Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Sweden and Finland one after another teaches you more in five minutes than an hour of random flags, because the differences are forced into your attention.
- Nordic crosses — They share one layout and differ only in colour and whether the cross carries a border, which is exactly why they are so easy to mix up.
- red-white-blue tricolours — Stripe order and direction are the whole difference here — get those right before worrying about shade.
- pan-African tricolours — Red, yellow and green appear again and again; the emblem in the middle is usually what separates them.
- crescent-and-star flags — Check which side the crescent opens towards and whether the field is split before you draw.
- Union Jack cantons — The canton is identical; the star arrangement in the fly is what you are actually being tested on.
- vertical tricolours — Ireland and Italy trip up almost everyone: orange versus red on the fly side.
